Marie graduated from Cal State University at Los Angeles with a degree in Communications in 1983. She relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where she began a career in communications services. In 1995 she changed course and became an insurance professional with Farmers Insurance. In 2011 Marie moved her expertise in Personal Lines products to Barbary Insurance.
Marie has been a volunteer in her community most of her adult life. Some of her work has been with the Burlingame and Daly City Lions Clubs where she has held several leadership positions. She has also served as a community member of the San Mateo County Commission on Disabilities.
Marie’s business contacts and collaborations have led her to founding Peninsula Equality Network and serving as a Board Member of the Golden Gate Business Association. Marie is also a current member of the San Mateo and Foster City Chambers of Commerce.
